Our river trip experience in Canadian canoes from Boroughbridge to Linton-on-Ouse follows the picturesque River Ure and the joins the River Ouse which goes through York. The trip is 16kms (10 miles) long and is approximately a 6 hour round trip. This adventure starts at Linton-on-Ouse where you shall meet one of our qualified canoe guides, you will then be transported by minibus or taxi to Boroughbridge and then you will be given a safety brief before getting into the canoes– when the adventure really begins!

Leaving Boroughbridge you canoe down stream passing where the River Swale meets the River Ure, you will then stop on route for an alfresco lunch and then continue canoeing into Linton-on-Ouse Marina where you can have a well earned snack or drink at the pub which is situated at the Marina.

Our equipment is first class- The Old Town Discovery 158 canoes are perfect for this type of adventure as they are spacious with plenty of storage space for refreshments and additional clothing etc. You will also be kitted out with:

  • A paddle
  • A cag (a protective layer helping to keep you dry, trap heat and reduce wind chill)
  • Buoyancy aid
  • A dry bag to keep keys or valuable items safe.

Throughout the river trip our qualified guide will be on hand to teach you the basic techniques involved in canoeing- as paddling, steering and staying in control. This trip is a great day out for families, friends, stag and hen parties and team development days. It is suitable for all abilities from the age of 7 upwards.
