The Archery Leader qualification has been used to train individuals to lead archery activities for over twenty years. There are now over 8,000 active archery leaders in the UK.

The Archery GB Leaders Award qualification is designed to be used by professionals and volunteers working outside of the Archery GB club structure, for example  in sport centres, outdoor education centres, adventure and holiday parks and youth associations.

To gain the qualification you require no previous archery experience! Full support is provided by the course tutors throughout the course.

The course takes place over 2.5 days and includes an assessment to pass.

Course structure

The course is structured around 2.5 days whereby candidates gain the necessary knowledge and experience to confidently lead archery activities.

Day 1 (afternoon)

Day 2

  • Phases of shooting
  • Practice coaching

  • Conclusion

Candidates on the course will be provided with full support, guidance and feedback from the course tutor. Candidates are assessed on day one and two with a conclusion on the final day. Each candidate who passes will be awarded with the Archery GB Leaders certificate.

Course venue- Grinton Lodge YHA, near Richmond, North Yorkshire.

The course is run over 2.5 days with participants arriving at 1200 and finishing for the day at 1700 on each of the three days. Overnight accommodation is available on the nights  for an additional £xx total which includes breakfast.
