After completion of the 16-hour Rescue Emergency Care First Aid course you get a three year Health and Safety Executive recognised First Aid certificate a requirement for many outdoor qualifications. On successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate from REC for your logbook or to validate your outdoor qualification along with a copy of the ‘Outdoors First Aid’ by Katherine Wills valued at £15.99. The course takes place at Swaledale Mountain Rescue Base in Catterick Garrison. Directions to the venue follow the A6136 off the A1 at Catterick into Catterick Garrison. At the centre of the Garrison turn right at the major roundabout (the second ‘big’ roundabout you come to signed to Richmond), follow the A6136 past Tesco on your left until you come to another roundabout where you turn left. The Swaledale Mountain Rescue base is on your right, park in the car park outside the base, not the church. If approaching from Richmond on the A6136 turn right at the first roundabout you come to in Catterick Garrison, again the Swaledale Mountain Rescue base is on your right. Light refreshments are provided but please bring your own packed lunch. Accommodation is not provided but we are happy to provide you a with a list of a few local accommodation providers. Private groups can be held at different locations.
